Record warmth expected Tuesday in Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — Strong south winds are blowing into the area, booting out the chilly fall air and bringing record warmth to the area on Tuesday.
Overnight lows tonight only fall into the middle 60s -- close to record-warm levels for the calendar day. Highs on Tuesday soar into the 80s, beating record highs by a wide five-degree margin. Wind gusts may exceed 40 mph in some areas leading to high fire danger.
Tuesday night is expected to be the warmest night on record so late in the year with temperatures refusing to fall below 70 degrees in some areas.

Rain is expected to clear the area by evening trick-or-treat plans with cooler, breezy weather settling in. Another round of soaking rain begins Sunday.
