View: Northwestern Will Wear 'Gothic' Uniforms Against Nebraska
(CBS) After two weeks of inspired play following a 1-3 start, Northwestern sits atop the Big Ten West at 2-0. With some swagger back, the Wildcats apparently feel brash enough to sport some crazy uniforms soon, too.
In its Oct. 18 homecoming contest against preseason West division favorite Nebraska, Northwestern will break out what it calls "gothic" uniforms. Yes, you read that right.
"That was one of the first ideas Under Amour came to us with," Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "The gothic look is the gothic look on campus. And purple and old gold were the first official school colors. I think it looks pretty cool."
