View: Fans Gather At Daley Plaza To Remember Ernie Banks

(CBS) As a statue of Ernie Banks was moved to Daley Plaza, fans gathered Wednesday to remember the Hall of Fame infielder known as "Mr. Cub" who passed away last Friday at 83.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Cubs owner Tom Ricketts were among those on hand to pay tribute to Banks in a public memorial that the Cubs and the city were holding.

"While Ernie Banks was 'Mr. Cubs,' and always known as 'Mr. Cubs,' he actually now, and always will be, and always has been 'Mr. Chicago,'" Emanuel said, who added Banks has been "our greatest ambassador."
