Up For Auction: Game-Worn Shoes From The Dawn Of Michael Jordan's NBA Career
(CBS) -- They could be the Holy Grail for any diehard Michael Jordan fan.
A pair of Nike hightops billed as the earliest known NBA game-worn shoes worn by Jordan could be yours, if you're the highest bidder, CBS 2's Mike Parker reports.
Some say Jordan was the MVP of all time. Everything he touched turned to gold, and the shoes from his rookie year are potentially worth a fortune, too.
Here's the story behind them. Before a 1984 game in Los Angeles against the Lakers, a teen ball boy asked Jordan if he could have his shoes.
"He said, 'Here they are,'" Terry Melia of SCP Auctions tells CBS 2's Mike Parker.
Now, 31 years later, those Jordan Size 13's -- personally autographed -- are being put on the block by the southern California auction firm.
"We anticipate that these particular pair of shoes could actually go for $50,000 or more," Melia says.

For the record, in that 1984 game the night the shoes were retired, Jordan scored 20 points as the Bulls squeaked past the Lakers 113-112.
