University of Illinois Board Of Trustees Vote To Increase Tuition For In-Coming State Freshmen
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Prices are on the rise for just about everything and that also goes for college tuition.
The University of Illinois board of trustees on Thursday approved an increase of 1.8 percent for incoming in-state freshmen at Urbana-Champaign and Chicago this fall. 1.5 percent in Springfield.
The last tuition increase occurred during the 2020-21 year.
It's only the second tuition increase in the past eight years. Fees and room and board costs for on-campus students will also increase.
