"Many of you know I've spent a lot of time here in this city, and it really is my home away from home, and I am so excited to be back here in sweet home Chicago," Williams said.

Williams' impressive résumé also includes serving as commissioner of the Big Sky Conference, a decade in the Big Ten office, working for the NCAA, and running the college football playoff.
