U.S. Navy F-18 Makes Emergency Landing At Midway
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The U.S. Navy confirms the F-18 that made an emergency landing at Midway Airport Wednesday as it was returning to its home base, the Naval Station in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
It was coming from an air show in Mankato, Minnesota and landed at Midway at about 12:40 p.m.
A Navy spokesman says two service members were on board at the time and were alerted to a mechanical issue involving one of the aircraft engines.
No one was injured and the plane did not sustain any damage.
