Woman killed, man shot outside Morgan Park police station
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was killed and a man was wounded in a shooting as they were driving Sunday night in Morgan Park.
Police said the victims did what many would think to do when they're being attacked, which is pull into a nearby police station, but the shooters didn't care, and kept on firing.
Police said, around 8:45 p.m., the victims were driving when a grey Chrysler approached and people inside that Chrysler started shooting.
The victims drove off and pulled into the 22nd (Morgan Park) District police station in the 1900 block of West Monterey Avenue, where the shooters got out of their car and continued shooting at the victims in front of the police station.
A 46-year-old woman was shot in the head, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. A 42-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the lower body, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.
The shooting also left a bullet hole in the window of the police station.
No one was in custody Monday morning.
Area Two detectives were investigating.
