Two Shot In West Englewood

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men were shot and seriously wounded Monday morning near two Safe Passage routes in the West Englewood neighborhood.

Police said two 18-year-old men were shot around 9:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Marquette Road.

One victim was shot in the abdomen, and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to police. The other victim was shot in the face, and taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The 2000 block of West Marquette Road is just off two intersecting Safe Passage routes. The Safe Passage route for Luke O'Toole Elementary School mostly runs along Damen between 66th and 71st Streets. The Safe Passage Route for Harper High School includes Marquette Road from Wood Street to Damen.
