Two Chicago Firefighters Injured In East Garfield Park Fire

Chicago (CBS) -- The Chicago Fire Department has reported that two firefighters were injured in an East Garfield Park fire Sunday night.

The firefighters were responding to a fire in a building near Albany and Monroe when they fell through a hole from the third floor to the first floor. One was able to get out on his own. The other had to be rescued.

CFD said the firefighters were taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This building failed an inspection in January.
