Two 16 Year Olds Charged In Des Plaines Armed Robberies
(CBS) -- Des Plaines Police say two 16-year-olds are charged in a string of armed robberies.
The most recent of the armed robberies was this past Saturday morning at a grocery store in Des Plaines.
Police say a robber pointed a gun at the clerk and the clerk pulled out a handgun and fired it at the robber. Nobody was hurt, police say.
Eyewitnesses led investigators to two 16 year olds: One was waiting in the car outside a barber shop and the other was inside getting his hair cut.
Both boys were arrested and police say they've been linked to three armed robberies in Des Plaines and three others in nearby suburbs.
