Twins Rally Past White Sox For 10-9 Win

Trevor Plouffe hit a tying, two-out RBI single in the top of the ninth, and Oswaldo Arcia followed with a go-ahead RBI triple as the Minnesota Twins scored twice in the last at-bat to rally for a 10-9 win against the White Sox on Thursday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

Arcia's shot to center field sailed just past the outstretched arms of White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton before hitting the base of the wall. Matt Lindstrom blew the save and took the loss for Chicago (2-1), which trailed 5-1 early but rallied behind three runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth.

Chicago squandered a chance in tie in the bottom of the ninth. After Dayan Viciedo hit a bloop double to right field and advanced to third on the ensuing throwing error with one out, Alexei Ramirez lined out to shortstop against a drawn-in infield and pinch-hitter Paul Konerko grounded out to third.

Caleb Thielbar earned the win for Minnesota (1-2), while Glen Perkins picked up the save.

Jose Abreu had a big game for Chicago, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Adam Dunn had a two-run homer.

White Sox starter Jose Quintana went six innings, allowing five runs, two earned, on five hits while striking out eight.
