TSA: Man Caught With Gun In Midway Airport Security Line
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The TSA says a man tried to bring a loaded gun through security at Midway Airport this morning.
Agents found a loaded gun in a man's carry-on luggage at Midway around 8 a.m., says TSA spokesman Michael McCarthy.
"It had seven rounds in the firearm," McCarthy said. "It was a .38-caliber firearm. This was the eighth firearm discovered so far this year [at Midway]."
McCarthy says eight guns have also been confiscated at O'Hare.
Nationwide, he says, the number of guns found in carry-on luggage is increasing.
In this case, McCarthy says the man was traveling to Phoenix.
The case was turned over to Chicago police.
