Trestman: 'Outstanding Job' In Atlanta
(CBS) The Bears earned a 27-13 win against the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, a victory that pulled Chicago to 3-3 on the season and left coach Marc Trestman believing it was some of the best football his team had played all season in its quest to be great for 60 minutes.
"Perfect is a pretty high standard -- we're shooting for that all the time," Trestman said in his Monday morning interview on WBBM 780.
Spcifically, Trestman thought defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and linebackers coach Reggie Herring worked wonders with young starting linebackers Darryl Sharpton, Christian Jones and Khaseem Greene, who were called into action with the Bears' top four linebackers on the depth chart injured.
"They just did a terrific job of getting them ready," Trestman said. "And then our D-line and our back end of the secondary were all working together to be in the right place. The guys played very, very hard and tackled well. They just did an outstanding job against a very good offense."
