Trestman: Cutler 'Led The Way'
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bears coach Marc Trestman on Monday morning credited his team's poise on the road for its dramatic 28-20 comeback victory against the 49ers, an effort he thought was spearheaded by quarterback Jay Cutler.
"He led the way throughout the week," Trestman said in an interview with WBBM's Jeff Joniak. "He led the way after the game, keeping his composure. He led the way throughout the week by getting back to work and focusing on what he could control and helping his teammates get ready. And that's what he did. We really followed him throughout the week."
Cutler completed 23 of 34 passes for 176 yards and had four touchdowns and no turnovers. He was at his best in the second half, going 13-of-14 and leading the Bears to three straight touchdown drives.
Trestman singled out his staff, big plays on defense, Kyle Fuller and the smart play of injured wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall as well.
