Tow Trucks Collect Toys Downtown For Needy Kids
(CBS) -- A small parade of tow trucks made an appearance in downtown Chicago this evening not to tow cars, but to deliver toys, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.
The trucks lined up outside Water Tower Place to unload the toys as Worldwide Equipment put on their annual toys for tots parade. Patrick Winer, the owner of Worldwide Equipment, says each year they look for an additional cause to support.
"We heard in the news that they were looking for toys at the Maryville Academy, we heard it on WBBM, and we thought we would help out so we decided to donate the toys to Maryville Academy," Winer said.
The toys will be handed out to children at a special Thanksgiving dinner next week. It is being sponsored Chicago Bear Brandon Marshall and Harry Caray's restaurant.
