Tow Truck Company Delivers Christmas Gifts To Family Of Woman Slain In September
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Santa Claus traded his reindeer and sleigh for a small convoy of tow trucks for at least part of this Christmas Eve to deliver presents to a mother in Morgan Park.
Three flatbed tow trucks arrived at the home of Roylette Luckey at 107th and Church streets, blasting Christmas carols over a loudspeaker, and hauling bags of gifts.
"I feel like I'm on Publisher's Clearinghouse," Luckey said.
She was holding twin 2-year-old girls Heaven and Nevaeh. Their 3-year-old sister Mariah was hiding behind Luckey's back.
Luckey's only daughter, 28-year-old Claudia Mister was shot and killed on Sept. 3, and Luckey has been raising the three girls ever since. Mister's two other children live with their father in Cincinnati.
"It's sweet, but it's bitter. I really miss my daughter," she said. "It's just tragic."

"I just had to. I just felt compelled. I mean, Christmas is about blessings. It's about these kids," he said.
Darrick Wells, 37, has been charged with murder in Mister's death. He was captured in Iowa almost two weeks after the shooting. He is being held without bail.
