Toews To Miss Rest Of Regular Season, Expected Healthy For Playoffs
(CBS) As he recovers from an upper body injury, Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews will miss the remainder of the regular season but is expected to be fully healthy for the playoffs, according to several reports.

Toews wasn't on the ice for the team's practice Wednesday. He didn't return to Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh after he took a hard check into the boards from Brooks Orpik in the second period. The hit was ruled clean by the officials and the NHL didn't retroactively discipline Orpik, but it still sparked controversy as some believed it was borderline dirty and thought the Blackhawks should've retaliated.
The Blackhawks have six regular-season games left before the playoffs start in mid-April. Winger Patrick Kane is also out for the rest of the regular season but expected to return healthy for the playoffs as he recovers from a leg injury.
Chicago coach Joel Quenneville has said that Toews' injury -- apparently to his arm -- isn't serious, making it appear that sitting Toews is a cautionary move above all else.
Toews is third on the Blackhawks with 68 points, registering 28 goals and 40 assists.
