Toddler Found Wandering Alone In Englewood Reunited With Guardian

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A toddler has been reunited with her guardian, after she was found wandering on the street in Englewood early Tuesday morning.

CBS 2's Marissa Parra has exclusive video of the girl in the arms of a Chicago police officer.

Chicago police said a good Samaritan spotted the toddler around 4 a.m. in the 600 block of West 71st Street. He scooped her up, put her in the car to stay warm, and called police for help.

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition, with no apparent injuries, while police went around knocking on doors in Englewood, trying to find anyone who knew her.

Police said she was later reunited with her guardian.

Neighbors in Englewood who spoke to CBS 2 said it's a close-knit block where the girl was found, so they were surprised to hear she was found wandering alone.

It's still unclear if she lives on the block where she was found, as well as how and why she ended up outside alone in the first place.
