Today's Forecast (10/30/14): Cold But Clear; Rain Begins Overnight
By Todd Feurer
CHICAGO (CBS) – Chilly conditions continue in the Chicago area, although there will be dry conditions throughout the day.
Temperatures will only reach the low 50s, and rain will start late Thursday night, around 11 p.m.
Halloween will bring colder temperatures, and even a rain/snow mix that could make for miserable trick-or-treating.
Although the temperature will be in the low 40s, it will fell like it's near freezing.
Chicago area residents also should steer clear of the city's beaches and be very careful if using the Lakefront Trail on Friday or early Saturday. There's a lakefront flood advisory in effect for the southern tip of Lake Michigan from 11 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday, as gusty winds will create waves of up to 23 feet on Friday.
