Tinley Park Teacher Resigns After Arrest For Sex With Student
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A Tinley Park High School teacher and wrestling coach charged with having sex with a female student has resigned.
Ryan W. Dolan, 29, of Tinley Park, resigned Tuesday, a day after being charged with two counts of felony criminal sexual assault, according to Bremen High School District 228.
Dolan had worked as a history teacher, varsity wrestling coach and an assistant football coach, and has been at the school for seven years, according to District 228 Supt. Bill Kendall.
Dolan appeared via closed-circuit television Monday afternoon in Will County Circuit Court, where a judge set his bail at $250,000. He was released later that day, according to the Will County Sheriff's office website.
Prosecutors allege that Dolan had sexual contact with a student under the age of 18 on Friday. He was charged Saturday, and prosecutors said police also are investigating him regarding allegations of child pornography.
Initially, Dolan had been suspended with pay after the district learned of the charges against him.
Conditions of Dolan's bail include having no contact with the victim or anyone else under 18 without a parent present and staying away from the high school.
Kendall said Dolan had a "clean record" and was respected by faculty and students.
