Tillman: Bears Addressed Right Needs In Draft

(CBS) In an interview with the Mully and Hanley Show on Monday morning, veteran Bears cornerback Charles Tillman said he was impressed with Chicago's haul from the NFL Draft over the weekend.

"I'm extremely confident with the draft picks they made, and I think they addressed the right situations, the right problems or areas of concern," Tillman said. "I definitely think this will be a better year for us on defense.

"I'm more than confident that Mel Tucker and his defensive coaches can get the job done this year.

"On paper, we look good right now. Now we just got to go out there and actually execute, which is possible and doable."

The Bears' most notable pick was drafting Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller with their first-round pick, and he figures to push Tillman for playing time.

"My job is easy," Tillman said of mentoring Fuller. "Do what I do, and it will be easy. I don't think I'm a great teacher. The way I lead is by example. Just do what I do, and you'll be good to go."

Listen to the full interview with Tillman below. He also addresses the needed continuity between the defensive line and secondary, what it was like playing on a franchise-worst defense last season and some of the keys for this season.
