Three Hurt In Elmhurst Restaurant Fire

ELMHURST, Ill. (STMW) -- One person was burned and two others were hurt when repairs to a gas line started a fire at a restaurant Tuesday afternoon in west suburban Elmhurst.

Firefighters responded at 1:19 p.m. to the 600 block of St. Charles Road and the fire in the restaurant's kitchen, authorities said.

One person was burned and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said. Two other people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Authorities believe the fire started during repairs to a gas line. The building's sprinkler system kept the fire under control.
