This Baby Has The Right Idea #Naptime!

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- As many of us grind our way toward the weekend, one has to admire this little guy.

What would you give for a nice nap right about now?

The National Sleep Foundation says adults can benefit from napping, "if used correctly."

In other words, don't get fired for falling asleep for the entire afternoon on the job.

Experts say adults should limit their nap to 20-30 minutes to avoid grogginess and affecting night sleep.

Babies nap all the time (they eat, poop and cry a lot, too.)

In fact, a baby's sleep cycle is similar to most other mammals.

More than 85 percent of mammals are "polyphasic sleepers."

They sleep for short periods throughout the day.

Humans are "monophasic sleepers." That means we stink at napping--once we get past the age of 4 or 5.

We divide our day into two parts: One for sleep and one for getting stuff done.

Now about that nap. Click on this link and watch this video for some useful tips.

Doesn't that look really nice right about now?

Besides, it's cute.

Hat tip to Kate Marie Grinold Sigfusson of Babies4Babies for sharing a quiet moment with baby Theo.
