Third Suspect Charged In Armed Robbery, Shooting Of Pizza Driver

(CBS) – A third and final suspect has been arrested in connection with the holdup and shooting of a pizza-delivery driver last October, police in south suburban Dolton say.

Frederick Taylor, 23, of Dolton was arrested Friday with assistance from the FBI, Dolton police said in a news release issued today. Taylor was charged with armed robbery and attempted murder and was being held on $450,000 bond at Cook County Jail.

The suspect is believed to be the last offender to be rounded up in the Oct. 25 shooting of a pizza-delivery driver, near 141st and Indiana. The trio allegedly ambushed the victim and robbed him before one of them shot the driver three times as he tried to flee.

Two others were arrested late last year – a 15-year-old who has not been named and Derrien Johnson, 21, of Calumet City, who also faces armed robbery and attempted murder charges. Both are still in custody, police said.

Dolton Police Chief John Franklin says a $5,000 reward offered by Domino's Pizza helped bring the case closer to its resolution. The driver who was wounded is still recuperating, he says.
