Man charged in Gold Coast Dior store armed robbery

Thief robs Gold Coast store at gunpoint

CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago police arrested a man who robbed a Dior store in Gold Coast Friday night.

Police confirmed 53-year-old Anthony Bowens has been charged with armed robbery and driving on a suspended license. He was arrested Saturday and is due in court Monday. 

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. in the 900 block of North Rush Street.

Police say Bowens entered the business through the back door brandishing a handgun.

Police said he then pointed the gun at employees and threatened to use force before taking merchandise from the store. He then fled the scene through the back door where he was seen entering a black Yukon truck that left the area.

No injuries were reported.
