The Bernstein Brief: The White Sox Don't Deserve Your Attention
By Dan Bernstein--

(CBS) There are few things worse than caring about a stupid, bumbling baseball team.
Such is the lot of the White Sox fan these days, after Sunday's farce of a performance insulted anyone still paying attention, let alone those with heightened expectations after numerous offseason acquisitions.
Four more errors, inexplicable baserunning and still no power from what was believed to be a formidable lineup. That's how you lose five in a row and fall into last place of the AL Central at 8-14. Speaking of last, the White Sox are 30th out of 30 MLB teams in runs (70), walks (48) and home runs (12).
We can debate all day the difference any manager makes at this level or what anybody else could reasonably be expected to do in his position. What isn't in question is the fact that this is what big league teams play like just before managers get fired.
