The Bernstein Brief: Steph Curry's Return Could Mean Epic NBA Finals

(CBS) Not to get ahead of ourselves, but this now could be one of the most anticipated NBA Finals in memory.
Those of us lamenting the absence of Stephen Curry from the playoffs were treated to his historic overtime performance Monday night, in which he scored 17 of his 40 points to power the Warriors to a 132-125 win that puts them up 3-1 on the Trail Blazers. He started slowly in returning from a two-week absence due to a knee sprain, then became his otherworldly self, scoring his team's first 12 points in the extra period.
On the other side of the bracket, LeBron James and the Cavaliers are setting 3-point shooting records. They're undefeated in the postseason so far, resting up for the Raptors or Heat. James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are healthy and finally playing well together, just as originally envisioned.
Nothing against either the Spurs or the Thunder, but this series just has to happen: Cavs and Warriors, James and Curry, both on explosive trajectories and colliding at full force.
