The Bernstein Brief: Bulls Are ... A Joy To Watch!
By Dan Bernstein-
(CBS) For the first time in years, the Bulls are fun to watch.
Even when some of coach Tom Thibodeau's teams have succeeded, their inability to find easy baskets meant for too many plodding, defensive affairs in which they slowly strangled opponents possession by possession. One could appreciate the results while still preferring the aesthetics of the game that came on afterward from further west.
But now Chicago's scoring in multifaceted ways. The fact that the defense has been something less than what we've come to expect probably has Thibodeau sleeping less, but for now I'll take this version merely for enjoyment's sake.
The only problem? The opponents.
More often than not in this wretched NBA East, it's something like the Pistons or the Hornets. Or the Knicks or the Celtics. Or the Pacers or 76ers or Magic or Nets.
Easy pickings for these talented Bulls, usually, but substandard entertainment.
