Teen Shot In North Lawndale

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The teenager was walking in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue at 1:05 a.m. when someone walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the leg and later walked into Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

A police source said the teenager is a documented gang member.
