Taste Of Chicago Offers Preview Of This Year's Restaurants
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Taste of Chicago is just over a week away - and the city offered an appetizer on Daley Plaza Tuesday.
Ten restaurants offered a preview of all sorts of exotic choices, but the longest line was at Harold's Chicken food truck, where people waited patiently to taste what they'd tasted before.
"I just stick to the traditional things. Things that I know about," one man said. "Fried chicken, ribs, things of that nature, things that I know about. My wife always experiments, but I don't."
A few feet away, Aaron Wolfson, owner of Chicago's Dog House, was offering rattlesnake and rabbit sausage. He reminisced about the first time he tried rattlesnake.
"I do remember. It tasted a lot like chicken. It's like the dark meat of chicken. It's not going to bite you. It's not going to hurt you. It's good for you. It's high in protein," he said.
So whether you want chicken, a chicken poseur, or almost anything else, Taste of Chicago will feature plenty of options, with 69 restaurants participating
Taste runs July 6-10 in Grant Park, with nearly 70 restaurants participating then.
