Taking The New Year's Day Polar Bear Plunge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's definitely cold enough to want to stay inside this New Year's Day.
But in Waukegan, people have a good reason to be freezing.
Lots of people took the Waukegan Polar Bear Plunge Wednesday morning. For many participants, it wasn't their first time. One woman said she has participated in this winter tradition 21 times.
The event raises a lot of money for northern Lake County.
Every cent goes towards camps and fitness programs for people with disabilities.
