Christian Thompson, 31, appeared in bond court Friday. He is charged with one felony count of first-degree murder.

He was identified as the man who shot and killed a 40-year-old man in the 0-100 block of West 69th Street on Aug 14.

Prosecutors said around 8:30 p.m. the victim was on the CTA Red Line holding his phone and tablet. He exited at the 69th Street Station and walked to the street level area to wait for a bus. As he was passing the area, he walked past Thompson and two other people he was with at the time.

Both men fled the scene in different directions, prosecutors said.

The victim was shot in the thigh and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital In grave condition and later died.

Thompson was caught on video hours before the shooting which showed his face, clothing, tattoos, and his scar on his arm from being shot in the past.
