Temperature drop on the way in Chicago for Tuesday with gusty winds

Coolest temperatures since May coming Tuesday night

CHICAGO (CBS) — Following an unusually warm September, October starts off with a cold front dropping temperatures and bringing gusty winds on Tuesday.

High temperatures Tuesday drop by 10 degrees into the upper 60s in many areas.

Low temperatures on Wednesday morning dip into the upper 30s in the far west suburbs for the first time this season, with 40s in Chicago.

The temperature swings continue, with a warm-up on Thursday followed by another cool front on Friday. Pleasant and mainly dry weather will continue into next week.
