Cold front to cross Chicago area ahead of Labor Day

Sunshine, less humid in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Clear and quiet conditions are in store for the Chicago area overnight Saturday.

A cold front will cross the area on Sunday morning, opening the door for a cool, gusty north/northeast wind flow to increase across the region.

The gusty winds will generate high waves and dangerous rip currents. Expect high swim risk on Sunday and Labor Day.

A small craft advisory will be in effect with waves of 8 feet to 12 feet over the open water.
