Sunny skies return in Chicago, but storms loom later

Another sunny day on the way

CHICAGO (CBS) — After the sun sets on Thursday, clear skies will be the order of the evening, but it will be brisk, with lows in the lower 50s.

Winds will become southerly on Friday, and warming will occur. 

Friday temperatures will be a good 10 degrees warmer than Thursday. Building clouds will occur late in the day, ahead of a weekend storm system.

Rain arrives overnight Friday, and Saturday starts wet with downpours and a rumble of thunder.

The storm track currently would mean more of a rain event for Chicago with storms downstate. 

Drying takes place on Saturday night. Sunday looks warm and dry, and temperatures will rise into the 80s for a few days next week.
