CHICAGO (CBS) — Lollapalooza goers will want to grab a poncho before heading out the door.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to be numerous across the area Thursday evening, potentially impacting the first night of Lollapalooza in Grant Park. Should lightning threaten, head indoors until the storms pass.

An upper-level low-pressure system is forecast to be right over our area early Friday, leading to gray and showery weather with a few downpours possible through lunchtime.

Sunshine returns with cooler, northerly breezes on the lakeshore Friday afternoon into the weekend.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms return at times next week, along with overall cooler weather.
