Starbucks To Launch Chestnut Praline Latte
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Soon, chestnuts will be roasting in your coffee drink.
Actually, that's not exactly true because the new holiday drink from Starbucks--the Chestnut Praline Latte--won't have any nuts of any kind. (Allergy sufferers can rest assured.)
The "CPL" (move aside PSL!) is the first drink to join the coffee king's holiday drink lineup in five years and will join forces with seasonal favorites like the Peppermint Mocha and Gingerbread Latte.
The drink will have a caramel-chestnut flavor and will come with whipped cream and spiced sprinkles.
Starbucks tested the drink a few markets last year and is expanding the drink nationwide, starting in November.
2014 will also mark the 30th anniversary of Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee.
Starbucks also will give customers a chance to win "Starbucks for Life" by simply swiping their Starbucks Card or paying with their mobile device during the holiday season.
