Soggy Weather Doesn't Stop Thousands From Enjoying South Side Irish Parade
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the people who came out for the South Side Irish Parade.
WBBM's Rob Hart reports soggy bagpipes made their way south on Western Avenue through the heart of the Beverly neighborhood on the Far Southwest Side.
Thanks to the rain, the crowds of people along Western from 103rd to 115th were thinner than in previous years, but that didn't stop South Siders from taking in a neighborhood tradition.
With the exception of 2010 and 2011, the South Side Irish Parade has marched through Beverly since 1979.
