Snowfall Prompts City To Deploy 200 Plows, Salt Trucks
CHICAGO (STMW) -- As snow continues to fall early Friday, the Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation has deployed 200 snow plows and salt trucks to work to keep main streets clear.
The trucks will focus on arterial streets, Lake Shore Drive, hills, bridge decks, overpasses and "other vital public safety locations" early Friday, according to a statement from the department.
Snowfall is expected to continue through the late morning, according to the National Weather Service, which also said there is a 40 percent chance of "measurable amounts" of snow being dropped on the area.
