9 Blackhawks Selected To World Cup Of Hockey

(CBS) The Chicago Blackhawks will be well represented in the inaugural World Cup of Hockey, with nine players joining the eight-team field.

Patrick Kane is the lone Blackhawks representative for Team USA, while Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Corey Crawford will play for Team Canada. Niklas Hjalmarsson will represent Team Sweden, Teuvo Teravainen will suit up for Team Finland and  Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov will represent Team Russia. Marian Hossa, a native of Slovakia, will play for Team Europe.

Chicago's nine players are second-most in the NHL, trailing only Tampa Bay, which has 10 players in the field.

The World Cup of Hockey will begin on Sept. 17 and will be played in Toronto.
