Shuttle bus driver dies after crash at O'Hare Airport; victim ID'd

Bus driver critically injured in shuttle bus crash

CHICAGO (CBS)-- An 80-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a shuttle bus at O'Hare Airport. 

Around 2:30 a.m. police said a shuttle bus, driven by an 80-year-old man, crashed into a light pole and concrete retaining wall near Terminal 5. Police said the driver was ejected from the bus through the windshield. 

The driver, identified as Alvin Short by the Medical Examiner's Office, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

No other passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Police are investigating.
