Chicago First Alert Weather: Showers wrap up after flash flood warnings
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Heavy rains wreaked havoc in several parts of the Chicago area Sunday morning.
Some were a reminder not to drive in a flooded area. The overpass on Ashland between Hubbard and Lake in West Town was a tough go for drivers traveling in both directions.
It was also hard to drive and to walk in south suburban Calumet City.
Some drivers got stuck in flood water at the intersection of Sibley and Clyde.
Other cars never made it out of their parking spots and sat stuck in the flood waters.
Temperatures will remain cool. Drier weather returns next week as temperatures warm up.
A Flash Flood Warning was issued for Cook, and DuPage Counties until 1:30 p.m. Warnings were also issued for Gary Indiana, and Orland Park Illinois until 3:00 p.m. Hammond IN, Tinley Park, IL, and Calumet City, IL, have been extended until 5 p.m.
