Secret Santa Surprises White Castle Workers With $500 Envelopes
(CBS) -- Employees at a White Castle near Midway Airport got a holiday surprise that made them $500 dollars Tuesday. That's when a Secret Santa paid a visit to the location at 63rd and Cicero, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.
A customer came in with his young daughter and after they finished eating, he thanked the people working there for all that they do.
"He said we work hard and he asked how many workers were here and we told him five," said manager Pamela Harden. "He gave us five envelopes and it had five hundred dollars in it."
Harden says they were shocked when they saw the money and one of the employees ran outside to thank the man in person. The man then came back into the store and took some pictures with the employees.
Harden says she heard the man also visited several other fast food places and also gifted employees money.
