Scattered Storms To Roll Through Monday Afternoon

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Scattered storms could bring small hail and brief periods of heavy rain to parts of the Chicago area Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers and storms will be moving southeast throughout the afternoon.

At about 12:30 p.m., Doppler radar showed a strong thunderstorm near Sycamore, moving southeast ab about 30 mph. That system could produce dime-sized hail, and wind gusts of about 45 mph.

Scattered storms will pop up across the area throughout the afternoon, but should clear out by Monday evening, leaving clear skies for the middle of the week, before another chance for rain on Friday.

Temperatures also will be rather steady through the week, with highs ranging between 79 and 84, and overnight lows ranging from 60 to 66.
