Scattered Showers, Slight Chance Of Severe Storms Tuesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- More showers and storms were on tap for the Chicago area on Tuesday, with a slight risk of severe weather.

While the day started out dry, remnants of storms that slammed Houston were moving in Chicago's direction, and the system is still strong enough that the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center said there is a chance of severe weather for much of northern Illinois, and all of Indiana.

The threat is mostly from damaging winds and/or hail, with the strongest storms likely in north central Indiana, near South Bend.

Most of the rest of the Chicago area will see scattered showers and storms starting around noon, and continuing through Tuesday night, when skies should clear.

Wednesday will bring another slight chance of showers and storms.

Temperatures should reach a high of about 78 on Tuesday, and highs should stay in that range through Friday.
