Drier conditions arrive Saturday night, warm and gusty Sunday ahead

More sunshine and breezy Sunday ahead, cooler temps next week

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Scattered rain showers and brief storms continue to roll through the Chicago area Saturday evening, so if you have any outdoor plans, be sure to have an umbrella with you.

Slightly drier conditions arrive Saturday night, and that trend will stick around for Sunday, but the winds are expected to strengthen. The winds on Sunday will be gusty, around 25 mph or greater from the north.

With those stronger winds, wave heights for the lakeshore of Lake Michigan will be 5 to 10 feet, creating dangerous swimming conditions and possible rip currents. A Beach Hazards statement remains in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday.
