Robbers Target Victims Near Rogers Park CTA Stations
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were warning CTA riders after three people were beaten and robbed as they left Red Line stations in Rogers Park.
In a one-week span, three Red Line passengers were robbed as they were walking from either the Morse or Loyola stations.
Each victim was approached by multiple people who first beat them, then took their belongings.
The first robbery happened in the 6900 block of North Glenwood Avenue, when four men attacked a victim around 8 p.m. on May 7.
Three days later, five men robbed a person in the 1400 block of West Lunt Avenue.
Three days after that, a man and a woman attacked someone in the 7000 block of North Sheridan Road.
In the three attacks, robbers took money, wallets, a backpack, work uniforms, and at least one cell phone. According to a community alert, the victims were hit near the head and across the body.
