Riverside Police Arrest Several Teens After Reported Shooting With Airsoft Gun

(CBS) -- Riverside Police arrested three juveniles after investigating a reported shooting with Airsoft guns Saturday night. Four other teens were cited and two Airsoft handguns and an Airsoft pump shot gun along with a bag full of Airsoft pellets were confiscated.

Police say a group of adults walking their dogs in the 100 block of Barrypoint reported to an officer that they were shot at with a BB gun and pointed out a house on the 200 block of Millbridge where they believed the shots came from.

Officers arrived at the house and after shining a light on the second floor window saw what appeared to be a BB gun. Police say parents opened the door and let officers inside and the juveniles were taken into custody.

Three juveniles were arrested for disorderly conduct and four were cited for under a village ordinance for disorderly conduct, police said. All ranged in age from 15-17 and were released to their parents.

The guns are legal but Riverside police say they were allegedly being used in an illegal way. No one was injured.
