Reward Offered For Information About Police Shooting Plots

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The executive director of the Illinois Crime Commission is offering a public reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone conspiring to kill police officers in DuPage County.

Jerry Elsner said the offer will start in DuPage, and he hopes to recruit donors to take it statewide.

The reward is $5,000 for each person arrested and convicted.

Elsner hopes the reward, prompted by the police shootings in Dallas and Baton Rouge, is incentive to call police with information.
